Abstract

Irradiation of a mixture of dopamine-β-hydroxylase and bleomycin with light of wavelengths >300 nm. leads to irreversible inhibition which is not prevented in the presence of tyramine. Prephotolysis of bleomycin followed by incubation (in the dark) with dopamine-β-hydroxylase did not lead to irreversible inhibition. Thus bleomycin is a photolabel of this enzyme.
