Abstract
The HERWIG event generator was modified to incorporate diffractive interactions in proton-proton and electron-proton collisions. A full Monte Carlo generator based simulation was performed for the underlying dynamics and the hadronic final state. POMWIG implemented the factorizable pomeron model into the HERWIG Monte Carlo generator. The implementation allowed diffractive collisions to be generated using all hard sub-processes available in HERWIG.
