Abstract
This work presents a preliminary analysis of an Integrated Gasification Fuel Cell power plant (IGFC) based on Intermediate Temperature (IT) Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC). The proposed plant layout remarkably increases the electric efficiency with respect to a comparable integrated gasification combined cycle, (net electric LHV efficiency approaches 52%) while being particularly suitable for the application to CO2 capture.
