    Abstract

A convenient source of 7-second [ 16N]-N 2 is described, employing the deuteron irradiation of a flow-through nitrogen target, suitable for the calibration of gamma detectors to 7 MeV and beta spectrometers to 10 MeV. Its possible presence as a contaminant in 150O-gases bears watching.
