Abstract

Examines the role and functions of the counsellor/counselling psychologist in behaviourally oriented multidisciplinary public health specialist weight management programme in NW England. Reviews psychological and weight loss outcomes for pilot guided self help groups for overcoming binge and compulsive eating. Considers client and therapist experience in successful group facilitation.
