    Abstract

Enter the chamber of wonders. Like a giant alchemical apothecary's cabinet, the Polyphon has 672 drawers, each containing a separate sound from outer space. The Polyphon is inspired by the work of the astronomer and mathematician Johannes Kepler (Harmonic Mundi, 1619). The sounds are created from radio telescope observations of 672 pulsars, the spinning collapsed cores of exploded stars.
