Abstract
Pure Transparent Freedom is a short film by artist Jacob Cartwright, made in collaboration with Joel Smith of the University of Manchester (Philosophy), whose new book 'Existentialism: A Philosophical Inquiry (Routledge) was the starting point for the project.
With a voice-over by Joel Smith and a score by Sam Schorb (DAMU), the film uses a combination of original and archive footage to explore a number of the key themes of existential philosophy.
The film was funded by the University of Manchester, School of Social Sciences.
