Abstract

This chapter seeks to examine the legal aspect of two parallel fora of debate: 1) the struggle over the nature, form and desirability of legislation to prohibit conversion practices (interventions aimed at changing an individual's gender identity or sexuality), and 2) the freedom of conservative religious and gender-critical voices to express their views in the public arena, in ligth of the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community and wider society.
