Abstract
Narrowing of the renal arteries (renal artery stenosis) usually results from one of two principal pathological entities—atherosclerotic renovascular disease (ARVD) and fibromuscular disease. The epidemiology and outcomes of these two conditions differ, and they are considered separately in this contribution.
