Abstract
Revaluing Construction-The International Agenda was the title given to the first major event to be held to take forward the CIB Pro-Active Approach theme of Revaluing Construction. The conference broke new ground for CIB in being the first CIB-sponsored event oriented primarily towards a non-research audience. Around half of the conference participants came from industry or from government bodies. The backbone of the conference was provided by plenary presentations of national construction improvement programs, each emphasizing a different aspect of change, but collectively demonstrating the great overlap in the issues being addressed.
