Role of process steps in pressure swing adsorption cycles

Abstract

The performance of four different Pressure Swing Adsorption cycles were measured experimentally and modelled theoretically for a process which produced oxygen from air over 5A zeolite. The purge cycle recovered less oxygen than cycles using a backfill step at comparable product concentrations and amounts.
