Abstract

The session provides the inaugural demonstration of a PC-compatible simulation game developed for quality managers. Augmenting recent analytic work on the quality control relationship between supplier and customer, the model apportions costs to each party on the basis of their respective (acceptance) sampling plans. The sampling plans considered are specifically of the 'lot by lot with rectifying inspection' type. By using simulation, optimal plans can be determined and joint quality control schemes can be explored.
