    Abstract

This study presents a 30 kW, six-phase dual-interleaved buck-boost converter which uses an interphase transformer together with six buck-boost switching arms hard switched at 75 kHz for electric/hybrid vehicle applications. Parameters and construction details of the interphase transformer and common inductors are provided together with a description of the selection of semiconductor devices. Weight, power losses, and temperature rise are evaluated at rated power conditions showing experimental results with a 7 kW/kg gravimetric power density achieved with the converter prototype.
