Social enterprising projects: Understanding the social entrepreneurship from the project management perspective

The past decades have witnessed a significant growth of social business enterprising and high failures of such entrepreneur project. Studies into social entrepreneurship have exponentially increased and a framework of individual, organizational and institutional has emerged to help understand the project process. While most literature focus their discussion at the organizational level, little has been investigated to relate this framework to project management. This study intends to address the research gap by identifying and justifying the latent connection between social entrepreneurship and project management. It … by clarifying social enterprising project and the framing the process model of delivering this kind of project. It is expected that this study would advance the understanding of social entrepreneurship by aligning with the project management knowledge and create a new interpretation of social enterprising and inspire extant and potential social entrepreneurs to act as project managers to successfully deliver social entrepreneurship.
