    Abstract

The important papers on the Workshop on Clusters and Computational Grids for Scientific Computing that was held at Highland Lake Inn at Flat Rock, North Carolina, on September 10-13, 2006, is presented. The purpose of the workshop is to evaluate the future trends for cluster computing and the use of computational grids for scientific computing. The papers cover three main areas including Message Passing and High Speed Networks with resource discovery in overlay network and videostreaming visualization, Grid Infrastructure and Programming Environment with a Grid scheduler for RPC, and Languages, Libraries, and Fault Tolerance with checkpointing for fault tolerance MPI. The papers also present research in the above areas on the future software technologies that will provide for easier use of parallel computers.
