Abstract
3 motets written for KANTOS chamber choir on the subject of the 1612 Lanchashire Witch Trials. The premiere was at Pendle Heritage Centre on 13 October 2018. Further Performances: Pendle Heritage Centre 31 October 2019, Lancaster Castle on 8 November 2019 and the Anthony Burgess Centre Manchester on 15 November 2019.
KANTOS and the composer curated an event on the subject of the trials together with the PHC, including music (contemporary, renaissance and plainchant), spoken word (readings from the trials) and poetry. Theses motets were the climax and centre-piece of the event.
