Abstract
This report summarises the findings from the fourth, and penultimate, phase of the evaluation of the ‘Springboard to Languages’ Project (September 2009-September 2010). The evaluation focuses on children in Year 4. It sets out to draw comparisons between children in the main case study school and a neighbouring primary school. The children in the main case study school were in their second year of the Springboard programme while the children in the neighbouring school had learned a number of languages (Latin, German and Japanese) in Year 3 and had focused on French only in Year 4 with the option of a lunchtime Spanish club.
