    Abstract

The introduction of (7′S)-methyl groups into the backbone of pyrrolidine-amide oligonucleotide mimics (POM) does not interfere with high affinity recognition of complementary nucleic acids, whereas (7′R)-methylation disrupts hybridisation significantly. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2006.
