Supply chain risk management for improving performance of low-carbon technological innovation in buildings

Research output: Chapter in Book/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

Low-carbon technological innovation (LCTI) is an important strategy to reduce operational and embodied carbon emissions in new buildings and realize zero carbon. However, the performance of low-carbon technologies used in buildings often falls short of expectations due to innovation risks in the building supply chain. Therefore, supply chain risk management (SCRM) is of great importance in improving the performance of LCTI in buildings, while few works of literature explored the application of SCRM in improving the performance of building LCTI. To fill the research gap, this study develops a comprehensive supply chain risk management framework for LCTI in buildings through a systematic literature review. The results of this study can not only enrich and complement the literature on both LCTI and SCRM, but also help to gain an in-depth understanding of the supply chain risks in building LCTI and provide an approach for project managers to effectively manage supply chain risks in LCTI and improve the performance of LCTI.
