    Abstract

    The synthesis and crystal structure of [Ag2L](NO3)2 (L = a thiophene-linked Schiff base azacryptand, formed from 2,5-diformylthiophene and tren) are reported. The cryst. species is not stable at ambient temp. and the structure reveals a possible mechanism for the breakdown of the crystals. [Ag2L](NO3)2.2MeOH is triclinic, space group P̅1, Z = 2, R = 0.0427, Rw = 0.1203. [on SciFinder(R)]
