Abstract
The reaction between CpPbCl and CpthfK-(THF) (1:2 equiv, Cpthf = 2-tetrahydrofurfurylcyclopentadienyl) in THF solvent unexpected results in formation of the homoleptic paddle-wheel complex [{(η5-Cp)2Pb(μ:η5-Cp)K}̇2THF] (3). The outcome of the reaction is likely to be due to a solvent-promoted ligand redistribution process.
