    Abstract

The molybdenum dithiocarbamato complexes [Mo(S2CNnBu2)4] (1), [Mo2S4(S2CN nBu2)2.1/2H2O (2) have been synthesized and characterized. Single crystal X-ray studies of (1) showed that molybdenum atom is coordinated to eight sulfur atoms in dodecahedron geometry and the bond lengths and bond angles fall within the range of values expected. In (2) the molybdenum atoms are coordinated to five sulfur atoms in a distorted square pyramid. © 2008 Taylor & Francis.
