Abstract

A one-movement work (ca. 12 minutes) for solo piano. It investigates the pulling together of heterogenous musical materials in different tempi across a large musical structure. Various blues-related materials, each in a different but related pulse, are mangled and tangled together - hence the title. It does this by means of a tightly-woven underlying pulse network that stretches across the work.
