Abstract
This is a Persian translation of my article "Translation as an approach to History", Translation Studies 5 (2): 232-240. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/14781700.2012.663615. The original article was written as a "Position paper" in a Forum on translation history that was part of a special issue on "Rethinking Methods in Translation History" edited by Carol O'Sullivan. The forum contained 3 responses by: Paul St-Pierre, Theo Hermans and Dirk Delabastita. Editorial note by Carol O'Sullivan: "Translation studies has always had a historical component, which has been coming increasingly to the fore in recent years. This Forum brings together a position paper by Christopher Rundle on the relationship between the disciplines of translation studies and history and responses by three distinguished scholars: Paul St-Pierre, Theo Hermans and Dirk Delabastita."
