    Abstract

This paper describes the application of elastica theory to modelling biaxial and shear deformation behaviour of woven fabrics. The normal force between the interlacing yarns has been computed and updated using the biaxial tensile model, since the friction couple at yarn intersections is a function of normal force. © Springer/ESAFORM 2008.
