The application of a small parameter method for computations three-dimensional viscous flow over blunt bodies

    Abstract

    Solution of the problem on the hypersonic spatial flow around spherically blunt bodies by viscous gas flow is considered on the base of the set of equations of the viscous total shock lager. The method of small parameter together with the global iteration method is used in calculations. Investigations are carried out of processes of flow around spherically blunt cones at small angles of attack and an elliptical cone at zero angle of attack. Numerical simulation is presented for flow about a long spherically blunt bicone at a small angle of attack. Applicability of the small parameter method is confirmed by coincidence of experimental and calculational data.
