Abstract

The main part of this paper describes a current project whose purpose is to undertake fine resolution measurements of HF sky wave channel parameters that are relevant to the choice of modulation methods and signal formats for high-rate data transmission. The measurement system is described, and examples of initial channel measurements are given. Also, the long term joint UK-Swedish project concerned with the measurement and analysis of HF spectral occupancy is soon to be concluded with the issue of a CD-ROM whose content is briefly described.
