The crystal chemistry and mineralogical properties of the thiospinels of the series polydymite (Ni₃S₄)-violarite (FeNi₂S₄)-greigite (Fe₃S₄) have been studied using synthetic and natural samples and emphasizing the intermediate compositions ("violarites', (Fe,Ni)₃S₄).-J.A.Z.
