    Abstract

We have designed a highly versatile, liquid-helium-cooled, polarisation discriminating infrared emission spectrometer in order to study fundamental aspects of adsorbate dynamics. The new instrument incorporates a liquid-helium-cooled FTIR spectrometer, 0.3 K bolometric detector, liquid-helium-cooled sample manipulator, liquid-helium-cooled optics and a very intense pulsed molecular beam source. © 1995.
