    Abstract

Introduction to the edition of the fragments of 110 Roman historians, including a general introduction about the project and the sources of the fragments, followed by separate introductions to the 110 historians outlining what is known about them and their lost historical works. An appendix deals with a further 39 authors who could be or who have been considered to be historians, but whom we have excluded from the main edition.
