Abstract

Landmap Kaia is the new geoportal provided by Landmap and hosted at Mimas. Landmap Kaia was developed using ERDAS APOLLO Advantage 2010.1; an enterprise data management software. The client uses Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards to enhance interoperability of the service. The application architecture has been developed on Windows Server 64 bit operating system based on ERDAS APOLLO Advantage 2010.1 running on JBoss and Oracle 11g. Landmap provides: Optical & Thermal; Radar; Elevation; Feature and UKMap data collections. These datasets were ingested into Kaia using ERDAS APOLLO Data Manager which allows the configuration of Web Map Services (WMS); Web Coverage Services (WCS) and Web Feature Services (WFS). Landmap in the past year has been producing ISO 19115 standard metadata for the data archive. The service also has established e-learning content to support the use of geospatial data and is currently partners in the JISC funded E-Learning for the Open Geospatial Community (ELOGeo) Project. E- learning courses developed are provided via the Learning Zone area of the Landmap website.
