The Politics of Hate: How the Christian Right Darkened America's Political Soul

Research output: Book/ReportBookpeer-review

Abstract

Based on original research-including tax records, discourse analysis of in-group emails and years of participant observation at Christian Right events-Wilson provides a meticulous analysis of the political strategy of Christian Right political elites. They consistently articulate a grammar of war. Wilson carefully documents their history of cobelligerency, their tactics of political warfare, and, importantly, the strategic effect of this war: promoting polarization by theologically justifying hate.
