Abstract
The psychology of strategic management is blossoming. What was once an emerging subfield, situated at the interfaces of the psychology and strategic management fields, is maturing into a diverse and increasingly influential interdisciplinary area of theory, research, and practice (cf. Hodgkinson, 2001a, 2001b; Sparrow, 1994; Hodgkinson & Sparrow, 2002). The primary goal of this body of work, known increasingly as ‘behavioral strategy’ (Powell, Lovallo, & Fox, 2011), is to bring psychological insights to bear on the analysis strategy-making processes, with a view to advancing fundamental understanding and improving strategic management practice:
