Abstract
Following the turmoil and political fragmentation of the Third Intermediate Period, a family of rulers from Sais, in an extraordinary story of adroit diplomacy and military activity, reunited Egypt into a single state. For nearly a hundred and forty years Egypt was once again ranked as a major power and under Saite rule Egypt entered a period of economic prosperity and cultural revival.
