Abstract
Various approaches to synthesize thiols, selenols, sulfides, selenides, sulfoxides, selenoxides, sulfones and selenones were presented. The general routes and reactions that give simple, unfunctionalized compounds followed by processes that yield products with greater functionality were studied. Stereo and enantioselective reactions, solid phase chemistry and solid-supported reagents were also investigated.
