Abstract

The electricity distribution industry in the UK was denationalised over four years ago. Since that time, the newly formed companies have, more than ever, made strenuous efforts to demonstate and improve the cost-effectiveness of their operations. Maintaining the working state of its widely spread electricity distribution networks remains one of their greatest financial responsibilities. A recently developed spreadsheet package offers the prospect of significant savings on equipment replacement.
