Abstract

This paper studies the inscriptions of the two Taymanite tombs (belonging to Tayma, north east of Hegra) of the Nabataean Hegra (Madain Salih) (Northern Saudi Arabia) that date back to the first century CE. The two tombs belong to a man and a woman, each tomb had two inscriptions, inside and outside the tomb. The paper explores the content of the inscriptions and of the tombs themselves to see what would be Nabataean and what would be specific to Tayma.
