Abstract
Simulations are well-known as aids to management decision-making. What is not so well-known is that they can provide a useful tool for training retail managers in a supermarket environment where experimentation is usually impracticable. SUPERTRAIN, a new trraining simulation, developed jointly by UMIST and Cooperative Retail Services (CRS) is now proving its effectiveness in this field.
