The use of intra-oral ultrasound in the characterisation of minor salivary gland malignancy: report of two cases.

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

It is generally accepted that ultrasound is now the first line of imaging of palpable lumps of the neck. Standardized protocols exist for the evaluation of thyroid, salivary gland and nodal disease, and sonography is increasingly being used in the characterization of intra-oral soft tissue lesions. Here we present two cases where intra-oral sonography was invaluable in the early detection of oral malignancy.
