Abstract
Following the success of the Cosmic Anisotropy Telescope (CAT), we are building the successor instrument, the Very Small Array (VSA). This interferometer will allow recovery of the power spectrum of primordial fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background between 100 <1 <2000 with ΔT/T ≈ 10-6. Care has been taken to ensure that the telescope measurements are free from sources of systematic error. A prototype system has been running successfully for several months, and we hope to ship the completed telescope to the Teide Observatory, Tenerife during 1999. © 2000 OPA (Overseas Publishers Association).
