Abstract

Timbi World is a videogames celebrating emotional game-play to connect a new generation of people with the ownership of environmental and social challenges.
Premiered at Ars Electronica, Linz, this musica videgame with social responsibility was made for NGO in Mozambique Maputo Skate.
In Timbi World, players role is calabash character Timbiliki@ on an epic journey across musical islands. Players bang their wooden head to greet new friends; complete challenges to collect rhythmic energy tokens and climb the giant mwenge tree for the best view in the world. Tokens can unlock a digital skateboard while playing, helping KeepItHuman social venture to send a real skateboard to partner NGO in Mozambique via proxy donors of a Gofundme campaign.
