Abstract

This chapter discusses the training processes for becoming a forensic psychologist. It introduces you to the different training routes, before focusing on the core areas of work completed by forensic psychologists. This will be illustrated by exploring each of the four areas in detail, by considering examples of the types of work that forensic psychologists in training complete. This will provide you with an overview of the training process and an insight into the depth of experience required for the role. The chapter will progress by considering professional training issues (e.g., ethics for trainees) and the role of reflection in the training process. Finally, the chapter will set out a series of hints and tips for individuals interested in progressing in this career
