    Abstract

The use of the finite-element method to determine the transient response of nonuniform distributed RC networks is described. The method is compared with other available techniques and the relationship between the accuracy of solution and the element size and time step investigated. These results are used to obtain the transient response of some exponentially and linearly tapered distributed RC structures.
