Ultra-fine particle production in rural and marine air masses

    Abstract

Measurements of aerosol size distributions were made using differential mobility analyzers (DMAs) and a laser scattering probe. These instruments were set up to measure 5 and 20 nm diameter particles continuously at 1 Hz. These high frequency measurements enabled detailed investigation of the ultra fine aerosol in combination with measurements of trace gas precursors and radiation properties that were also made at high resolution.
