Abstract
The article describes the archaeological exploration of the ancient city of Imet in Egypt. Topics covered include the name given by archaeologist Flinders Petrie on the site, the conclusion that a temple found on the site was constructed by Middle Kingdom pharaohs and embellished by Rameses II and the misfortunes which plagued Petrie's excavation. Also mentioned is the identification of a Ptolemaic village that indicated earlier structures underneath.
