Abstract
We now attempt to draw together the lessons from our cameos of the diverse and complex range of drugs scenes which make up UK drugs. Our primary concern here is policy and ‘good practice’ development. Our starting point is that the new drugs strategy, as the first real attempt to manage UK drugs, has more integrity and realism than could have been reasonably expected and thus should be the starting point for evolving a robust and more effective management machine. We do have major criticisms to make of the strategy but these are hopefully constructive.
