Views of Vidigal Films: Series of 6 short films

Views of Vidigal is a series of six ethnographic films on my research on slum gentrification in a Rio de Janeiro favela (Vidigal). Each of the six films explores the process of gentrification from different points of view expressed by various protagonists. As a whole the films offer a mosaic of a specific period in the history of Vidigal, and in the project of urbanisation of the city. They are an example of the use of ethnographic film in anthropological research, as a tool of exploration, a catalyst of relationships and knowledge, and a means of dissemination of academic research.
