Abstract

There is a considerable concern regarding whatever happened to organic plans. The issue involved includes the organic sector and the subversion to the mainstream food system of the same sector. There is also a rejection of the big companies in the context of the rural, specifically the rejection of big agroindustrial transnational corporations and their role in organic agriculture's development and a outright rejection of the big farm. In addition, there is also a concern on the intervention of big agricultural companies against the countryside inasmuch for urbanization and a strong influence in shaping rural/urban relations. There is also the not-sot-discussed discussion on the production and regulatory aspects of the development of the organic sector with little attention paid to the role of the public. Whatever the case may be, the battle for organic is worth a second thought. If the industrial organic gains the upper hand in the organic subject, the concerns that led to the rise of organic and local food will resurface in new, exciting forms and interest.
