    Abstract

This reported work concerns the wideband performance of small linear uniformly spaced arrays in the presence of mutual coupling when used in beam scanning applications. Optimum pattern bandwidth performance is obtained by implementing a particle swarm optimiser with Schelkunoff's unit circle approach. Performance comparison has been made with a conventional Taylor distribution. © 2010 The Institution of Engineering and Technology.
