Abstract
This document covers the methodology, application and findings from the work carried out by Work Package 2 Part A “Off-Line Capability Assessment” as part of the Customer Load Active System Services (CLASS) project. Considering residential load models based on literature data, the methodology is first demonstrated using individual primary substations as well as constraints resulting from the interactions across voltage levels (including the effects on LV customers). The half-hourly quantification of the potential residential demand response is then extended to whole Electricity North West Limited area and to the whole UK. In addition, load models based on measurements from the trials (catering for both residential and nonresidential loads), are also adopted to produce a more comprehensive quantification.
